![]() Ken Gomes (the one on the right!) :-) Student Worker Preferred Pronouns: he/him/his |
Hello my name is Ken Gomes. I am a first generation Cape Verdean American and the second one in my family to go to University after my older sister. I am a social work major and I love it. I love how it is a profession that is dedicated to helping others, especially the underprivileged and those at risk. My work at the Pride Center greatly influenced my decision to become a social worker. I learned so much about the GLBT population which is a population that is underprivileged in our society. People often say I won't make money in social work, but it depends on where you go in that profession. I don't really care much about money, I just hope to have my own house one day with kids and a few pets. My aim is to have a family and to kick butt on the behalf of those who cannot kick butt for themselves. |
