• I was documented for an incident, how do I know what to do next?
  You will receive a notice via your Bridgewater State University email asking you to set up a conduct conference. The notice will also contain a copy of the incident report. It is very important to check your email daily for important university related material.
  
  
• Can I be documented for something that occurs off-campus?
  Yes. If it calls into question the student's suitability as a member of the university community. This means even incidents occurring off-campus may be referred to the university's student conduct system.
  
  
• Who will I meet with for my conduct conference?
  Most cases are heard by the Resident Director of the building the student lives in, however, any administrator can serve as a hearing officer during a conduct conference.
  
  
• I have already been through the criminal system, why do I have to also go through the student conduct system?
  The student conduct process is not a court of law. Students at Bridgewater State University are expected to abide by the code of conduct or be subject to disciplinary action through the student conduct process.
  
  
• As an accused student, do I have to attend my conduct conference or hearing?
  No. If you choose not to attend, the proceedings will continue without you. It is important to attend so that you can tell your side of the story.
  
  
• Who is the conduct board made up of?
  The conduct board is comprised of students, staff, and faculty of the Bridgewater State University community.
  
  
• Can I bring people with me to my hearing?
  All students have the right to an advisor, who may be present during the student's hearing. Relevant witnesses are also allowed during the hearing. If a student is requesting to bring a family member/significant other/support person they must get permission from the conduct board advisor. All hearings are closed to the general public.
  
  
• What happens if I don't complete my assigned sanctions?
  Failure to complete sanctions can result in more severe sanctions including suspension from the university.
  
  
• Can I be a member of the university conduct board?
  Yes! Any student can volunteer to serve on the university conduct board. Go to the Conduct Interest Form to submit your name and information.
