International Identification Cards

Overview

The Office of International Programs at Bridgewater State University is an issuing office for International Identification cards. This includes cards for youth, students, and teachers. The card covers a variety of protections and discounts including travel protection, medical protection, baggage protection, travel accident protection, and worldwide emergency services. The card is recommended for students traveling abroad as well as faculty planning trips or courses abroad. You do not have to be a Bridgewater State University student to purchase this card. Why Should I Purchase an International Identification Card?

International travelers should always travel with some sort of additional travel insurance. This card includes a wide variety of coverage which is helpful in times of emergency. Since accidents and unforeseen medical conditions can happen abroad, it is always best to have a back-up insurance to depend upon.

How do I apply for an International Identification Card?

  1. Download and complete the application form below
  2. Obtain one (1) passport photo from a local pharmacy, agency, or AAA store
  3. Pay $22.00 by credit card or check made payable to "Bridgewater State University"
  4. Turn application, photo, and $22.00 payment into the Office of International Programs at Bridgewater State University at least one week before the card is required.
  5. Provide proof of identification such as a license, passport, or college identification card (for the student identification)

Who is Eligible for an International Identification Card

International Student Identification Card (ISIC)

To qualify for an International Student ID card, you must be age 12 or older and currently enrolled as a full-time degree seeking student at an accredited institution. Continuing education, language school, and non-degree seeking students are not eligible.

International Youth Identification Card (IYTC)

To qualify for the IYTC you must submit proof of age showing that you are under 26 years of age.

International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC)

To apply for the ITIC, you need proof that you are a full-time teacher, professor or instructor at an accredited educational establishment. You must be employed for a minimum of 18 hours per week for a minimum of one academic year.
