Incoming Student Placement

If you have not taken a college-level math course at BSU, you will be assigned your first-semester math course based on several placement factors:

• SAT Mathematics subscore
• Accuplacer placement test score
• Previous college-level math coursework completed

Students wishing to review mathematics content over the summer in preparation to take or re-take the Accuplacer Elementary Algebra placement test may register for a 6-Cess Math Review Course. Follow this link for more information. The cost of this course is $20.00, and is inclusive of re-testing fees.

Preparing for MTEL Math

The College of Education and Allied Studies offers a summer prep course for current BSU students taking the General Curriculum MTEL Math Subtest on July 14, 2012.

The prep course dates are as follows.

Saturday, June 2 — 9:00-1:00 — Burnell 109

Measurement, statistics, and probability

Saturday, June 9 — 9:00-1:00 — ECC 112

Fractions, decimals, and percents

Saturday, June 16 — 9:00-1:00 — ECC 112

Place value, number theory, and operations

Saturday, June 23 — 9:00-1:00 — ECC 112

Geometry

The workshops are free to those who attend all four. A fee of $50.00 will be charged for each unexcused absence.
